The most successful German esport organization Berlin International Gaming, known worldwide under the name “BIG”, is now cooperating with Red Bull. For the first time in Germany’s esport history, Red Bull sponsors a German esport Club. The long-term and strategic cooperation is a milestone in German sport and strengthens the leading position of the Berlin-based organization BIG.
The flagship of the organization is the glorious Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team built around Team Captain Fatih “gob b” Dayik. With spectator numbers in the high millions and filled arenas, Counter-Strike is one of the hottest and most prestigious titles in esport. Since 2017, the German team, headquartered in Berlin, has been able to establish itself among the world’s top teams and celebrate numerous respectable successes.
Red Bull and BIG will form a strategic alliance within the partnership. In addition to joint campaigns and events, Red Bull will also support the BIG athletes in the sporting field and brings many years of experience in athlete marketing from traditional sport. Together they would like to expand their leading position in the German market and further establish themselves at the international top.
Already on Wednesday, 20.02.2019, BIG and its CS:GO Team will compete for the first time with Red Bull as a partner at the next CS:GO Major World Championship. At the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2019 a total of 16 teams will play for 1.000.000 USD prize money. At the end of March, the StarSeries i-League Season 7 Finals will follow, a 500,000 USD tournament in Shangai. The team also qualified in February for the Intel Extreme Masters Sydney in May. At the beginning of July, the German fans will again have the opportunity at the ESL One Cologne to cheer on the best German team in Cologne’s Lanxess Arena. Last year, the team was able to reach the Grand Final of the 250,000 USD tournament on home ground in front of more than 10,000 spectators inside the arena.
