FaZe Clan History
FaZe Clan has been around since May 2010, when the organization launched its YouTube channel. Initially, the organization was only focused on Call of Duty. The group initially had three players, Eric Rivera, Jeff Emann, and Ben Christensen, as part of the team, with Ted later joining the group.
The group gained a massive following after the release of a popular series ILLCAMS, on their YouTube channel, resulting in them becoming one of the most popular eSports streaming channels.
By 2012, the organization had started to branch out into other eSports competitions, especially in the Call of Duty Championship and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championships.
Initially, the organization did not have a corporate structure, with the group being separated into two anonymous groups that competed under the same banner.
In 2014, the first home base was set up by FaZe Clan in Plainview, New York.
In 2016, FaZe Clan acquired European esports team G2 Esports’ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup.
In 2020, FaZe Clan obtained an investment of about 22.7 million USD as a loan from a private lender.
In 2021, FaZe Clan became the first eSports team to be featured on the Sports Illustrated June edition cover. In July 2022, FaZe Clan went public.
