Lagardère Sports and Splyce are teaming up. The global sports marketing agency is expanding its eSports portfolio by signing another team from the LCS Champions Series.
This collaboration will see Lagardère Sports manage sales activities for the eSports organisation and help it acquire new partners and sponsors. Further focal areas will be the expansion and advancement of marketing activities, and the development of individual campaign and activation concepts. The agreement will focus on Europe and Asia as well as global opportunities.
Splyce is one of the leading eSports organisations based in the US. In addition to its League of Legends team that plays in the EU LCS Champions Series, Splyce is active in other titles, including Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Starcraft 2 and Rocket League.
“Lagardère Sports has shown itself to be a market leader in the world of sports marketing and sales, through its numerous top-tier clients around the world,” said Marty Strenczewilk, CEO and Co-Founder of Splyce. “Further to this, they’ve done great work with the early eSports teams they’ve brought on this year, showing that they are more than just talk about what they can bring to our industry. I’m really optimistic about the ability they have to open doors that have previously been almost impossible for an eSports team and move the needle in terms of non-endemic eSports revenue”.
“Our partnership with Splyce enables us to demonstrate our activities and strengths beyond the borders of Europe, within the Asian market. We very much look forward to this collaboration and to increasing the number of games titles in our portfolio, for instance Starcraft 2 and Rocket League”, added Moritz Altmann, Senior Director of eSports at Lagardère Sports.
Splyce, founded in 2015, is home to top level teams across multiple esports titles around the globe. Since its inception, the organisation has grown to include teams in League Of Legends, Call Of Duty, Rocket League, Counter-Strike, Starcraft 2, Halo, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros Melee, Hearthstone, and Paladins. With championships across five titles this year, Splyce has firmly planted itself as one of the most winning organizations in the industry.
While Splyce HQ is in North America, the organization has global reach, with players and staff based out of Europe, North America and Asia. After partnering with Delaware North, owners of the TD Garden and whose chairman owns the Boston Bruins, Splyce has become the official esports team of Boston and the TD Garden, with our Rocket League team as the first title to take on the name Boston Splyce.
