Just in time for the start of the new year, VfL Wolfsburg have secured two new strong partners for eSports in effect Energy Drink and Turtle Beach. Together with the two companies affine for the area of eSports, the Wolves are eager to set new standards again in 2017 in the ever growing area of E-Sport and continue in their role as innovative leader amongst football clubs.
Fans of the Green-Whites can already look forward to several highlights planned for the coming year with the new partnership: A VfL-Gaming-Zone, a Green-White tournament series and many other attractions are in planning, which will be solidified as the number of partners grow.
As from the home game against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday, February 12th, VfL Wolfsburg will be thematically placing their new eSport partners on the TV-LED advertising hoardings in the Volkswagen Arena.
Both effect and Turtle Beach are already well established in the area of eSports. Turtle Beach Inc., whose Elite Pro was the first gaming headset specially conceived for eSports, are the market leaders in Gaming-Audio equipment. Effect supported VfL Wolfsburg in the implementation of the FIFA17-Launch-Event in September last year and played a major role in ensuring the livestream event was a complete success. “We are delighted to have won over two strong partners for our eSports department in Turtle Beach and effect Energy Drink. Together we will drive on the area of E-Sport at VfL Wolfsburg further still, whilst making the connection between real and digital football even more multi-facetted,” commented VfL manager Thomas Röttgermann.
“As the leading gaming headset brand in the world we have passionate fans in Germany and have been impressed with Wolfsburg’s involvement in eSports, so we felt it was the perfect time to begin working together,” said Julian Woods, Managing Director for Turtle Beach Europe. “The ELITE PRO is the only gaming headset built from the ground-up for today’s generation of competitive gamers, so we look forward to providing the best gaming audio experience to VfL Wolfsburg’s pro players, as well as to their fans.”
